In work today I received a brochure about various courses. One was entitled 'Coping with common children's ailments.'
Lawks a'mercy, I don't want anything to do with those common children.
(I'm trying to think of diseases that common children might get but my brain is not co-operating. They obviously won't be as grand as the ailments posh children get, so maybe, tinypox or hiccuping-cough. Rubbish! Can you come up with better?)

If they were my children, the common aliments would probably include EBola, the Bubonic Plague, West Nile Virus and the Bird Flu ... I'm pretty sure they brought each of these home this year between the two of them.
Good thing my MS was able to allow me contract each bug ... TWICE!
I'm beginning to suspect you're just a hypochondriac, mdm!
That reminds me of my mum: "Don't play with her - she's common". No one uses the word in that sense any more, do they? Just as well.
Nothing common about children. Though I guess they are becoming a little rare these days with the birth rates down everywhere!!
Common children? I wonder what uncommon children's disease are...
We're all common in our own way, Liz.
Common children would most likely get the "common cold". At least that's what we call it over here...
common children's ailments? inter alia : drug abuse
I hope everyone understood that I wasn't being a real snob! But was picking up on the title of the course that should have been Coping with Children's Common Ailments!
