My alter-ego has been to SL, to visit Last Ditch's mansion where the Blogpower award ceremony will be.
I was doing fine, until I started talking to Ruthie about Little C and shoes. Then I fell out of the airship.
But I'll be back. If I can work out how to get in again.

Nice to meet you in SL. Tom is such a genial host. I enjoyed this visit a bit more than my earlier ones. Still frustrating, but always up for a challenge.
It was nice to "meet" you! Isn't Tom a great host?
He's in his element!
It was good to meet both of you too. And Tom and the others (although I'm still not sure who they were!)
And didn't the time go quickly? I was amazed when I realised how long I'd been there.
LOL don't you love the 21st century where you can fall out of an airship and still be walkin' and talkin'? I am trying to find the shopping district...
I was mid choosing an outfit when I had to go and eat dinner (in real life) so I was timed out and now I look like a trollop. I need to find my way to the shops!
I think you turned up when I was there but had some mishsaps...
Sure i'll see you there at some point.
Ok, I must get to grips with it!
SL is addictive escapism. Get a (first) life!
What's SL? Why an airship? I'm intrigued but need enlightening...
SL is Second Life, a virtual world where the Blogpower Award ceremony is to be held. When you go there, you create an avatar, a person, for yourself and you move around and interact with other people who are there too.
I am very much a beginner at this but I went to the venue the ceremony will be held in and there were other bloggers there I knew. And we got on an airship together. Just like that!
Liz, I've been back and spent some time exploring outside Tom's domain. There is a search button at the bottom. Click it, select places on the tab at the top and type in what shop you are looking for. I would suggest you type freebies. There is tons of stuff available at $L0 or L$0. Nothing.
Thanks, Bag, I'll do that.
Liz, I tried! Got as far as setting up an account and downloaded. then got a message saying my "video card" on my computer is not up to date or something. I don't even know what that is and now I'm going to have to pay a computer man yet again to come and sort it out. I really feel like crying. I don't think people can imagine what it's like trying to sort it all on your own when you are not techie minded.
