Now just the thoughts of me and not my dog until I can persuade Husband we should get another.

Veni, vidi, sed non vici
I forgot to say that, after we'd done our main shopping in Exeter, we managed to squeeze in a visit to the Oxfam bookshop.
I picked up a good copy of John Peel's autobiography and - Dr Stu would like this - a Latin crossword book. Now, as I struggle with crosswords in English, this could be a major challenge.
Latin crosswords, are you going to post any? I'm sure I would fail to get anything after all these years. I got Amo, amas, amat from the library. I loved it, might think about asking for it for a gift. Wow, you have the pessimistic dog carer, hope all is well. I left my dog once with a friend and the dog (Westie, of course) was attacked by a raccoon and she had to take it to the 24 hour vet. She was more upset than the dog was. Of course she was fine after the antibiotics and all. Regards jmb
That's a good idea, jmb; I'll scan one and post it. I've sent Dr Stu a hard one but I'll put an 'easy' one here.
And as regards pet-sitting - we looked after a friend's gerbil one Christmas ... and our cat ate it.
M&M, I bet my O-level Latin is older than yours, but, and this applies to you too Winston, you'll probably be surprised how much you remember. (Some days I even remember my name, boom boom.)

You need Caecilius - he and his family in Pompeii got me through O-level latin many years ago.

Scan one and mail me a sample please :-)

PS: All the best for Harv!

OMG... A Latin crossword? It has been so long and I have forgotten so much.
