Why don't we move into the middle of the bed and enjoy all the extra space when our men are away? It appears you stay on your side even when he's not there. Me, too.
If you had a cat... that space would be filled...actually, 80% of the whole bed would be filled. Cats tend to occupy as much space as you will allow. Great take on the theme.

My Dear Hubby and I don't spend many nites apart but we don't spend a lot of time sharing the bed while we sleep, either. His work shift hours have had him getting up practically in the middle of the nite for years. I'm aware of him getting up...then I snug his pillow up close and crash for a couple more hours!
Husband's side of the bed is empty during the week while he works away.
