The first one

I saw my first Father Christmas last night! On a tractor.

That's all.

Off to Ffald-y-Brenin this weekend. Looking forward to sleeping, walking, eating, relaxing, reading in front of a log fire.

Have fun. Never been to Ffald-y-Brenin myself. Hoping to go sometime soon.

F-y-B is wonderful. We had a great weekend. We were in a lovely self-catering room (that reminds me of a lump of cheese) with a log-burning stove; it was fabulous. You and Becky must go! They suggest £12 a person a night so it's not expensive.

I am writing an article about F-y-b for a christian newspaper and while I was there, talked to the directors of the Trust; they have the most amazing stories about people encountering God there. Even people who are just passing by and feel compelled to drop in. (Although how anyone would be just passing by is a mystery; they must have been awfully lost!) One visitor described it as an 'extremely thin place', which I thought was a great way of saying how easy it was to connect with God there.

Oh, and Ella - of the year!
