Steve's boss said something nice to him yesterday: that he'd noticed one thing since he'd arrived and it was his ability to always bring out the positive of any issue or in any conversation. His boss said he was brought up in a very negative-vibe sort of family and it had led to his current state of gloom. What he liked was that Steve wouldn't say "you wouldn't be much of a pop singer" but "with your voice, you'd make a good backing singer". Which I thought was a nice compliment to be given.
