Footie update 2

Yay! Swansea goes up to the premiership!

By half time Husband had finished planting plants so agreed to come to watch the football. The score by now was 3-0 to Swansea. First pub we went to, we thought, oh, this seems very civilised then we realised that was because they didn't have the game on television.

A trip down to Mumbles later and we were squeezing into the White Rose.

It's a bit of a culture shock being amongst a crowd of football supporters. As Husband said, 'For most of them it's more about tribal rites than the graceful art of football.' And these were all good-natured football fans.

Still, a tense 45 minutes later, and Swansea's the first Welsh team to make it into the premiership.

gives hope to all "small team" supporters - I don't mean that badly but Swansea were nearly out the whole league not too long ago and teams like Wigan etc. have done it as well... Now if only Gillingham... yes now that is stretching the bounds of the imagination! :-)

It's going to be a shock for the likes of Man U to come and play at our 20,000 seater stadium! And, yes, Swansea has been up and down before.

Swansea goes to the Premiership?? Bloody hell. Liz are you sure this is soccer you're talking about and not rugby? You are a woman, you know.

And don't Mumble, speak clearly: George won't be able to understand you!!

I know, Gledwood, it is a shock, but I'll be back on rugby tomorrow when Wales play the Barbarians.
