My slow-cooker has one of those up down switches. One side says High and the other Low. The question is: is it on low when the Low side is pressed in? Or does that mean it's on High?
It's been so long since I used the slow-cooker I have no idea.
According to Delia Boeuf Bourgignon is a retro dish. One that used to be popular in bistros in the 80s. It was probably the 80s I last made it. I hope it's as nice as I remember it.
At least it should be well-cooked.

I think it has been on slightly too long. I've opened the back door and I can smell burning.
Shit! My bacon is on fire! :)
You should have a serious retro evening. Prawn cocktail followed by steak and kidney pud with black forest gateaux for dessert. And a few glasses of sherry.
Retro schmetro. If you like it eat it!
It is still one of my faves :-)
Sounds great to me. How did it turn out?
Waiting for the food reviewer...
It'll be delicious ! "Retro" food always is .
Youngest daughter was treated to a 6 course nouvelle cuisine menu a couple of weeks ago . Half the courses were served on slate slabs , the rest in tiny silver spoons . She wasn't impressed , being more a boeuf bourgignon sort of girl .
I'm glad to see that you know your place is the kitchen.
Stay there. Keep cooking. Set an example to those feminists!
Sounds delicious, Liz. When I was working full-time, my slow-cooker was my best friend in the kitchen. Nice to come home to have dinner already cooked--as long as I remembered to plug it in:)
Hope everything is going well with you and that MIL is doing better.
Don't throw the pan out with the bacon, calum!
Yum, nick.
We did, jams.
And rightly so, cherrypie.
Slightly over-cooked in that the meat was in shreds but richly flavoursome, mauigirl and katney.
That's the trouble with this new-fangled cookery, sonata: you can't find it on the plate.
Hmm, jeremy, can't a feminist be a cook too?
Rose, I'm going to try and be more organised and use it more often. Mil not good. But not a lot we can do. Thanks for asking.
