Palm Sunday, toilets and firemen

I love going into the prison on Palm Sunday because I get a palm cross. Imagine my irritation then, today, when I was driving home and I realised I'd forgotten to pick one up! Fortunately I already have three.

I called in to see my nearly-90-year-old aunt today as well. She told me that she'd got stuck on the toilet but that she happened to have a 6'4" fireman in the back garden at the time.

Reminds me of the time my mother who was 86 at the time, using a powered seat to get her in and out of the bath, got stuck in it. Luckily she had the presence of mind to have her phone to hand and called her friend (also in her 80s!) They decided to call the Fire Brigade and had two burly fireman call he lift her out!

My mother is 84 and prone to fainting spells (also has a dickey ticker) so it is very handy having the fire station two blocks away.

The benefit to me is that I get to see a LOT of lovely men in uniform...
