It's a good job my mother-in-law doesn't have a computer

I've just realised that I have spent all morning cleaning the kitchen and I've only done half. And not particularly well at that.

It's a good job my mother-in-law doesn't have a computer. If I knew she read my blog it would tell a very different story.

Saturday, 9 am. Began washing the skirting boards. Should be finished by lunchtime and then I'll set about cleaning the chimneys.

As it is she'd probably demand Younger Son be taken into care.

But I believe that a bit of dirt makes for healthier children.

Bored cleaning now.

Sounds like she is frome the era where children were chimney sweeps. Send younger son up the chimney, it may give you brownie points.

problem is Hullaballoo that if she does not have an open fireplace then younger son may have a teeny weeny bit of a problem being sent up the chimney. Working down the coalmine is a far better idea!

Good job my mum doesn't have a computer either, or she would have made a few startling discoveries. I find one excuse after another for not doing the cleaning. Usually it's forthcoming visitors who prompt a blitzkrieg to get rid of the accumulated grime. I think Hell would be non-stop cleaning.

I came by for your photohunt - but it's ok that I didn't find it. I have tears of laughter in my eyes from reading your last 2 posts. And I'm soooo glad I'm not alone with my apathy when it comes to cleaning!! :))

Happy weekend Liz!

Good job she can't see my house either ;-)

Why not just tell her to sling her hook and mind her own business? Some people are just bloody rude...

I also subscribed to the principle that if children are exposed to dirt and dust, they will develop an immunity to them as they grow up and have fewer allergies. It seems to have worked:)

I also have the same shoe cleaning basket as you--I think I have about 5 jars of goo to waterproof suede shoes and boots, because I can never remember if I bought some the last time:)

This made me laugh, and that's exactly what I needed.

I feel very virtuous, I vacuumed and mopped the floors...and dusted! Heavens...a miracle, thought my house.

At the end of her life my granny admitted that she had spent too much time in her life cleaning. The words echo now and again :-)

A bit of dirt definitely makes for healthier children in both body and mind! And never worry about what your MIL thinks - it's bad for you. ;)

You'd love the scrutiny of Italian women! They come round looking for dust all the time!
