Just as I am

These words were written by Brennan Manning, an ex-Franscican monk. He's the author of The Ragamuffin Gospels, and if you ever get the chance to go and hear him, do go. Maureen read these words at the end of the services.

God loves me just as I am and not as I should be.
He loves me beyond worthiness and unworthiness.
He loves me beyond my fidelity and infidelity.
He loves me in the morning sun and the evening rain

Without caution, regret, limit or breaking point.
No matter what I do, He will not stop loving me.
And this is grace.

xx

This is lovely, Liz! I sent it to my pastor and his wife - hope you don't mind, since our church is "Grace"...

Wonderful words, Liz. I have been surprised many times by the folks who I have met who have no concept of the meaning of grace. Perhaps that is endemic to contemporary society.

I brilliant piece of writing.

For a long moment, I was confused that Bernard Manning would write such a thing.

I loved this so much I 'snitched' it for the sidebar of my blog. Hope you don't mind! And after looking at your scrumptious food photos, I have GOT to go find something to eat!
