He was gorgeous, wasn't he? And he had an MGB. No wonder I fell in love with him!
So, having been to Slice last week we weren't planning on celebrating last night but I felt I couldn't go to Zac's and leave Husband on his own, and if I stayed we'd just have a takeaway and watch television as usual, so we went out. To On the Rocks, a new restaurant overlooking the sea near the pier.
It was okay. I had garlic prawns to start - can't go wrong really - and cod rigatoni for main. I always find a pasta dish just goes on and on, so that was nice sauce for the first umpteen mouthfuls but after that got a bit boring. Not to mention filling. I think, these days, Slice excepted, I'd prefer to go for ice cream or cake and a cup of tea rather than what is usually an average meal.
And it was to Verdi's I went with Vivien this morning for my regular hazelnut basket. Then it was into town with the intention of making an enquiry that went further.
There was no point hesitating.
Ooh, painful! My mother had to have her ring removed when she broke her wrist. She had been wearing it for 60-odd years, so it was quite a wrench.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be much more comfortable now and your resized ring will feel like new. 😊
I hope so.
DeleteI'm glad you're keeping the same ring. It's got history.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly has, Boud.
DeleteI get my ring looked at/cleaned every six months. There have been a couple of times over the years where I've had to leave it so they could do some service. I always feel naked.
ReplyDeleteHow do you service a ring? I guess it has stones rather than a simple plain one.
DeleteI couldn't stand it. I gave up wearing a ring altogether.
ReplyDeleteHusband's never worn one.
DeleteStopped wearing a ring years ago as did hubby. We know we’re married. That is all we need to know.
ReplyDeleteThat is true, Marie. I might grow to like a bare finger!
DeleteI think your finger will thank you for the respite from a too tight ring!
ReplyDeleteI just hope it revives, Debra.
DeleteI bet it feels strange not having the ring on your finger after all those years.
ReplyDeleteI keep playing with it or not.
DeleteGoodness, you have a mild case of the #1 birth defect in the world: clinodactyly.
ReplyDeleteI had to look it up but I do indeed. I also have eleven toes.
Deleteoooh i can't imagine how strange it feels without the ring after so long..... i imagine there will be the odd panic moment where you ook down and instantly think you've lost it...... hopefully your fingers springs back and you get the ring refitted and back in place soon
ReplyDeleteI hope so, Arctic Fox.
DeleteIt will take a long time to lose the feeling that your finger is lonesome - much longer than it will take for you to give your finger a breather and get that ring back in its proper place, I think.
DeleteJenny and I have never had wedding rings. Like Marie says, we know we're married and we don't need a reminder!
