And talking of bottoms

Stu commented that Soggy Bottom sounded like a location from a Carry On film. I replied that another possibility was as the setting for a murder in Midsomer. And CopCar mentioned Foggy Bottom. Which all in all reminded me that there are some weird and wonderful place names in this country of ours.

A quick google was in order, but what I didn't expect was to find that I was born in one.

Mumbles? Mumbles isn't a weird name. Not when you compare it to Loose Bottom or Crapstone. And when you look at a more finely detailed map, well, just see for yourself.

    Hahahahaha, love those place names! I agree that "Mumbles" is pretty tame by comparison. We have a few suggestive place names in Canada too, like "Dildo, Newfoundland" and "Climax, Saskatchewan."

    When I hear of "Soggy Bottom," I always think of the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou?" and the heroes' old timey hillbilly band called "The Soggy Bottom Boys."
