I wore my new Christmas socks yesterday.
I posted this photo on FaceBook saying it was a slightly ferocious-looking sock. There followed a long debate - actually debate is putting it too strongly - I was told it was a baboon or, more specifically, a mandrill. I thought it was a goose. You see where I'm coming from, don't you? It does have goose-like qualities. Doesn't it?
Today my socks have piggies on them. Definitely.

That's most definitely a mandrill... he looks rather surprised to find himself in Wales!
ReplyDeleteI vote "Mandrill" but I see your point about "Goose." I think that's supposed to be fur represented on the rest of the sock apart from the face but once the sock is on, could be interpreted either as hairy leg or varicose veins?
ReplyDeleteAlthough, now that you mention it, I could "see" a goose, it is a mammal of some sort. I'll accept mandrill, but I don't know the apes that well.
ReplyDeleteI have to go with mandrill also though I did have to look up a picture of a mandrill. They are colorful and is the #1 attraction for socks!
ReplyDeleteI say mandrill, although the mouth does look a bit like a goose.
ReplyDeleteThere is a photo, face-on, of a Canada Goose at http://photomiser.com/canada-goose-face/. It is not nearly as colorful as a mandrill, but I couldn't find a similar photo of a more colorful goose.
