Coming or going?

Is it just me who struggles with signs? I was in town for the first time yesterday and my brain was in turmoil.

I know this one means I can't go out that way but I had to stand and think for a bit.

Does it mean I can't enter this way?

Does it mean that particular door?

Can I enter/exit through the open door next to it?

This was one of the clearer signs too.

I was walking around the shopping centre and dutifully following arrows on the floor - until I got to the point where all the arrows were leading me away from where I wanted to go. I suppose it would have led me back eventually but - and whisper this because I still feel guilty - I went against the arrow!

But at least I tried unlike some of the idiots around!

For most of the time this is a fairly boring plant but it comes into its own once a year.

And remember that acorn I planted? It worked out which way was up!

Okay - that store was truly unclear as to how to get in unless there is another 'entry only' door, though at our malls, there's only one way in and same way out. Haven't tried any malls since it means an hour drive into the city, finding a parking place (hopefully) walking a mile up to the mall and then having to deal with too many people. Yay! A little oak tree!

That sign should have said, "No Exit". Interpretation of signage is an issue. Sometimes I think it is because the people who write/compose them have no imagination. People like us can think of 50 different ways to interpret their words.

Oops! Mea culpa. The above words are mine.

I don't know about signs but I'm hopeless with instructions. The number of times I've signed up to Amazon Prime!

I must admit I don't always follow the arrows in the shopping centres but I do enter and exit through the designated areas of shops. Well done with the acorn. My mother had a beautiful Christmas cactus, it kept going for years, even in the care home that she eventually had to go into.

I'm proud to say I've mastered the local supermarket's attempt at making one wide door into a separate entrance and exit by putting a wobbly wire fence in the middle. I'm not sure if it's making a huge difference pandemic-wise, though...

You always give me a chuckle, Liz. I am in the same boat when it comes to arrows and following signs. I am not a deliberate rebel but I fear I have gone against the signs too.

Glad we all have similar misadventures. And I don't believe it's just our age!
