Spring is in the air

The sun was shining, the birds were tweeting and it really felt like Spring in the air. And I was out without a coat for the first time for ages.

The first crocus was in bloom in our garden but the camellias in Clyne are out before ours. But they are in full sunshine while ours are in full shade.

It sounded as though there was a bit of a fracas going on in Clyne Gardens. I was so busy peering through the bushes to try and see what was happening I walked into a post. But that stopped me falling in the river so, on balance, it was a good thing.

Coming back from my walk this afternoon I had my mouth in shape for the last remaining scone. (Husband and Daughter had eaten the others at lunchtime but I had declined.) I arrived home to see the rather worrying sight of the cake box empty and washed.
'Where's the last scone?' I asked Husband.
'Hm,' he said. 'Someone must have broken in while I was taking rubbish to the tip, and eaten it.'

I had to eat Maltesers instead.

Who knew the UK was a veritable paradise of tropical abundance?

I have to confess to some slight jealously at your early spring; winter still very much reigns here, and all last week we had highs below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Tomorrow we'll hit 16 F, so at least there's progress!

And thanks for your comment on my recent post. I enjoy hearing new insights.
