Husband has an annoying habit

Obviously he has more than one but for the moment it's just this one I'll tell you about.

He'll call me and say, 'Where do you think I should plant these dahlias?'
I give the matter suitable consideration and make my suggestion.
At which point he sighs and says, 'Yes but ...' and then points out what's wrong with the spot I've suggested before telling me why the spot he's already chosen is much better.

I really don't mind where he plants the dahlias.

Or he'll say, 'What do you want to watch on television tonight?'
I'll shrug and say, 'I don't know, something on Netflix?'
Then he'll say, 'We can't watch Netflix because we're recording (or something: I'm not sure exactly what stops us but something does) but we could watch ...' and he goes on to recommend something else. Which is almost certainly fine by me.

Or 'Where do you want to go on holiday?'
'Umm,' I think and then reply, 'What about Corsica?'
'It won't be warm enough if we go early in the year. It's only warm then in the Canaries.'

Fine, so let's go to the flipping Canaries.

I think the name for that is perversity. Jenny and I can be very perverse at times, reacting quite irrationally to the other's perfectly sensible suggestion. When I defend the general state of the paintwork, wallpaper etc around the house, Jenny insists that most of it needs repainting or replacing. So far my view has prevailed....
