Whatever happened to Kevin Keegan?

'Eden Hazard has won Footballer of the Year,' I remarked to Husband. 'I've never heard of him.'
'He's Belgian. And plays for Chelsea,' Husband said. 'And he won young Player of the Year last year.'
'Wow! You know everything!'

Then he admitted he'd never heard of him either until he read the same article this morning.

Does Kevin Keegan still play?

Liz... just to point out most footballers careers come to a shuddering halt somewhere in their 30s... a few keep going into their late 30s some really impressive notable exceptions (Teddy Sherringham) make it to their early 40s. Now given Kevin was knocking balls in the net when I was at school and I'm now nearly 53... well you do the math(s)... ;-)

He was a manager for a while - including England. This is a famous rant as manager of Newcastle when he was hoping to pip Man Utd to the title... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Yenzdq5g6o

He's not been active in football since resigning from his second stint as manager of Newcastle about 6/7 years back

I'm ancient enough to remember Matt Busby.

Okay, Graham, he's probably no longer playing - but does he have a perm?

I thought I did too, Nick, but Husband tells me it was Alf Ramsey who won the world cup not Matt Busby. I do know his name though.

I just had to click on your blog Liz , was very intrigued (as always) to see what this was about. Kevin Keegan hasn't played for years. He became a manager and I think a commentator .
