The difference between being 62 and 89

On New Year's Eve Husband and I had steak and salad for dinner then were in bed by 10.30 pm.

My uncle, who is 89, went to a friend's for a dinner party, arrived home just after midnight, was invited in for a drink by his neighbours and got to bed by about 2.00 am.

I am looking forward to being 89.

I think his attitude led to him becoming an young 89 :-)

Sounds like Lorne and me - we lay in bed listening to all the fireworks going off and I guess we showed our age when we both said "Will it ever end?" lol Just got caught up on your latest posts - sounds like you had a good holiday season.

Amazing .. I thought about going to bed before the New Year arrived, just couldn't bring myself to. Didn't seem right . Well done to this young chap.!!

Bless him - more power to his elbow! Why not go out and enjoy yourself when you're 89? I'm told the elderly need less sleep, so surely it's more fun to stay awake at midnight and do stuff than wake early in the morning and go about your normal day?

Can't wait :)

He is a young 89 indeed, cherrypie.

The fireworks seemed to go on for ever, leslie!

I did stay awake until midnight so I could wake husband up and say happy new year, Anne!

I think he has little naps during the day too, Jay!

Well, let's not hurry to get there, doodle!

My mum is 92, doesn't go out drinking but often only goes to bed at midnight. Jenny and I are usually too knackered to stay up much past 10.30. How do these super-oldies do it?

It's well known that older people don't need as much sleep, Nick, so we're obviously still young.

My great-aunt who's 95 is also an inspiration, doodle.
