A de-cluttering I will go

About a month ago I read an article about de-cluttering. The top 5 hints were really good and I resolved to act on them.

So ... weeks later as I'm cleaning the bedroom I finally think about getting rid of some of the umpteen jars of make-up stuff that litter my bedroom shelf. All the miracle rejuvenating creams that I spent a fortune on and that may have worked if I'd ever got round to using them, the eye creams, the anti-ageing serums, oh, yes, I am an advertiser's dream: I believe it all even though I have proved to myself many times that my hair will never be silky smooth whatever conditioner I use.

I get each bottle down one by one from the shelf, consider the unopened packaging ... and put it back on the shelf. Well I spent good money on that; I may use it one day. And that was a free gift with something so I have to keep that.

As a gesture to decluttering I am throwing out a bottle of nail varnish remover bought for the one occasion in my life that I used nail varnish and a bottle of body lotion from a Christmas gift set at least 12 years old. I sniffed it and it definitely smells funny.

It's a start.

I keep looking at the mess in my bathroom cupboards and my undies drawer and continue to resolve to "get on with that." *Sigh*

I think I've found my vocation - I can offer decluttering lessons for I tend to do so on a regular basis. I'll start with DH and his shed/garage ...

Mrs N, I keep trying but can't get on to your blog!

Oh yes, all those old knickers that fall down - 'but they're comfy', leslie!

I might hold you to that, Shirl!

Great minds think alike, I did some de-cluttering today , made a lot easier as my hubby is not here to say anything. This was from drawers I had no idea what was in really , he keeps stuffing things in, and he dilikes the word so much !!

I do my undies drawer a few times a year .. like to buy new and new bras too.

I am definitely due a house move, never been in one this long , (8) years , love de-cluttering then.

My husband is the worlds worst hoarder , well slight exaggeration but he will not throw anything away .. why not , was is the attachment.

I go and help my mother in law, she is the same, but I will say she was very pleased with her clear out , (My clear out).

I gave my dear hubby a decluttering task yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon I took him to the Emergency Room and he was admitted. This morning before I went to the hospital I did his task. He is released, but he did not notice it when we got home. I wonder when he will look for that bill he paid in aAugust 2012.

Husband has several sheds in which he likes to hoard stuff, especially bits of wood, anne.

You know what will happen, Katney. Tomorrow he will ask if you've seen that bill he was keeping.

Fortunately I have no make-up to de-clutter. When it comes to books, however....
