When my chicken in cashews turned into chicken in pecans I realised what the problem was. Earlier in the day, when looking for Younger Son's degree certificate, I came across some of my old school reports.
See? Fifty years ago I was excellent or very good at things that mattered. Now I can't tell a pecan from a cashew. It's not my fault: I simply peaked too soon.

I threw away all my school reports many years ago. Some of them were just too embarrassing. Generally along the lines of "is intelligent but needs to try harder."
They'd probably say the same 50 years later....
You got a C in religious knowledge?
What happened to the Z and the A ? ;-)
I think today mine would say, 'tries hard but needs to use her brain,' nick.
ha ha, stu.
When they wrote "We suggest he skip a year" I genuinely thought I was getting 365 days off :-(
This is so funny! But really, that IS an excellent report.
I found a whole bunch of school reports in Mum's house after she died, for me and my brothers. Very, very interesting reading indeed!
