I had to stop reading at one point ... as I was laughing too much to see the words!

That is the charm of This Time Next Year by Liz Hinds. You want to go shopping with Aliss and her friends, help her sort out her relationships, and throttle her son--oops!

It is a great read. Made me laugh and cry.

Either we are in the universe to inhabit the lovely eternity of our souls and grow real, or else we might as well dedicate our days to shopping and kill time watching talk shows. John O'Donohue, Eternal Echoes: Celtic Reflections on Our Yearning to Belong
A trip to Windsor Great Park during a visit to Elder Son, Daughter-in-law and GrandSon.Imagine having this as your front drive ... (that's Windsor Castle in the far distance). Oh, not any old horseman but George III, whose statue stands at the end of the Long Walk (nearly 3 miles). The statue, commonly known as The Copper Horse, is actually made of bronze-clad iron.

You had me there. Great perspective.
Next time you are in Windsor Great Park be sure to visit the USA (without all the hassle of immigration etc).
There is an exclave of the USA down near Runnymede Meadows, fenced off around the rowan tree (JFK memorial).
Take a thermos with you and then you can brag to your friends that you went to the USA just for a cup of tea ;-)
Been there, done that :-)
