In which I see Jeremy Kyle for the first time

I saw Jeremy Kyle for the first time this morning (for reasons I'll explain in a later post). I am appalled! Do they pay huge amounts of money to get people on the show? Although there wouldn't be enough money in the world to make up for that humiliation. And is it mandatory for the woman to go off weeping at some point? And for the man to believe he's God's gift to women?

Then I saw a bit of some Morning programme with Philip Schofield. They were doing a piece about a gypsy encampment that is being moved on or something. They had a traveller who was quietly spoken, articulate and polite; and they had a rabid councillor who I swear was foaming at the mouth.

The traveller made some dubious claims, which the councillor could have reasonably disputed. As it was any viewers like me who could see both sides of the argument would surely have come down on the travellers' side after listening to both.

Morning television was an education. Who watches it? And why?!

Mercifully I have NEVER seen Jeremy Kyle except for a couple of clips which hardly show his programme in the best light!

I did watch Ian Wright once or twice but then he is a Hawkwind fan and did the lead vocals on an album some years back. I met him at the album launch party and he is actually a very pleasant guy!

I'm always amazed at the humiliation and ridicule some people are prepared to endure just so they can appear on TV and have their 15 minutes of fame. Wild horses wouldn't drag me into such a situation, however much cash they offered me.

I haven't ever seen morning TV but I did listen to the travellers plight on R4 this morning. Can't believe they are being evicted, poor things.

Obviously requires some femmes fatales.

I assure you I'll be doing my best to avoid Mr Kyle in future, jams!

Is it just for the fame, nick? It's tragic.

Don't watch morning TV, suburbia. Stay sweet and innocent!

I don't think so, james.

avoid at all costs... my daughter is a fan of "Jezzer"... honestly they must pay these people it is just horrible - like you I am appalled whenever I do stumble over it when I'm around at that time. Luckily this week I'm not working but D-o-F is at school and there is rugby to watch :-)
