Off on hols again

We're off to North Wales tomorrow with Daughter, Son-in-law, Elder Son, Daughter-in-law, George, Holly Dog - oh, and GrandDaughter!

We're renting a converted barn for a week and let's hope the weather is good. But even if it isn't we'll have GrandDaughter to keep us entertained.

The only one of the family missing is Younger Son who's in Ibiza. He made a point of going to visit his niece before he set off for the summer and I was really pleased about that.

I do love my children.

I just hope they can cope with me for 7 whole days!

See you when we get back!

I hope you have a great time. I have fond memories of big family holidays like that :-)

Of course they can cope with you. Question is, can you cope with THEM??!?

(joke!)

I hope George has a barksome time... will he miss his exotic lover...?

ps something that's always bugged me about Wales is the way ALL major roads appear to lead in and out of England... surely they ought to be building one North-South inside Wales..?

And more importantly, a high speed inter-Wales rail link, for that matter

You'll need to brush up on your Welsh language for North Wales. Here are some phrases I learned at school:

o righto, rhaid imi mynd nawr te
righty-ho I must go now then

paid rhechain yn y lolfa neu bydda ti'n neud twll yn y soffa!
don't fart in the living room or you'll make a hole in the settee!

llithrodd ffrind fi ar brich yn y cae
my friend slipped on an afterbirth in the field

I hope these come in useful on your travels

hwyl dda!

Have a wonderful time with your family, Liz, although somehow I can't really seeing you needing any of Gledwood's conversational gambits.

A lovely post.. I love my children too and my grandchildren ..

I am not sure my boys and me would cope with a week together.. but I know that the grandsons could :-)maybe the granddaughters could too, but they are very temperamental..!

I love CherryPie's comment, I cannot remember family holidays at all.. certainly not big family holidays.

Be careful, Ann in Oxfordshire ~ Liz has only just got off a double murder rap in the famous Mumbles Human Sacrifice Scandal. And George, who is mostly pit-bull, though you wouldn't believe it, is well known for savaging local school children to death. She's a dark one, that Liz!
