So I'm wondering ...

as I clean the bathroom, why it is that some people are clever, good at sports and play a musical instrument or two, while some others e.g. me, have none of those attributes.

I like to think I'm clever and I sometimes pretend I am but mostly I fool people by being quiet and nodding thoughtfully at appropriate moments. It's only when I open my mouth that my stupidity reveals itself.

I mean, would a clever woman have bleach-cleaned the bathroom tiles without wearing gloves? No, precisely.

I'm not moaning about not being clever, by the way. I have managed just fine in life by scraping through academically and marrying Husband who keeps me in a manner my natural ability would never have allowed me to do.

I've heard it's the quiet ones we have to watch out for. lol

Seriously now, do you not consider your writing skills, compassion for the less fortunate, and love of animals and humans alike to be special gifts from God?

Liz, I think you are an underseller of self.

I think George would think you very clever and skilled.

Your excursions for your faith impress me, maybe give me courage to get out of my comfort zone.

Thank you, cherrypie, but I mean the sort of clever you are - knowing all about unions and rights and stuff.

You're right, jams: I was thinking about my blog!

As if I could, james.

Yes, I do, leslie, and I am very grateful for them but I mean the knowledge and wisdom that some people have.

No, honestly, suburbia, I am twp!

George is in my bad books, nitwit, as he didn't even give me a wag when i got up this morning!

Not me, stu. I'm still here and blogging away!

Outside of not wanting to end up on a show like "Clean House" or "Mission: Organization", I do clean. Not as fanatically as I once did but I try to keep it presentable. But five minutes after everything is all spic 'n' span, dirty dishes begin accumulating again. Soda cracker trails are meandering across the carpets. Fingers smear the TV screen and windows. But so what? It just proves Life is lived here. And just you wait 'til that grandbaby is here!! But, dear...for future reference, DO remember the gloves next time! :-P

I've read your blog, your long bits and heard a monologue or two in the process...

Trust me many of us would kill for that...

then add in your immense humanity and caring nature - witness the work you do in the prison and with the others less fortunate around you...

you have a richness of talents that many of us lack completely

I will, kris!

Thank you, joy!

aw, bless you, furtheron!

I really wasn't looking for compliments ... I don't think!

So, have you gone and lost your fingerprints, then? LOL!

I do stupid things like that too. I guess I'm not very bright, either. :P
