Look what came in the post!

A beautiful baby quilt from Katney in Washington state. Thank you so much, Katney. She says it's a gift from granny to granny and I can decide whether to give it to daughter or keep in my house. That was an easy decision: it stays here! For Baby - and any future babies who come to visit.

Isn't it fantastic how blogging brings together people from all over the world and connects us as friends, even though we've never met?

Daughter says that all baby clothes, be they new or secondhand, must be washed before use and I've been allocated the task. And it's a job I've very happy to do and I am grateful for this 'Indian summer' as it means the clothes can be well aired on the line.

I think this baby has more clothes than Prince William had - or even Prince Harry who would have had all the hand-me-downs as well. (Do princes wear hand-me-downs? I suspect they would have as I believe the Queen is quite careful about economy.)

Ahh, the only nicer sight than clothes on a line is baby clothes on a line!

Because of necessity I find myself washing the grandboys' clothes if I run out of fresh jeans or shorts during the day. Every weekend I was their 'blankies' that they cuddle in at bottle and nap time, plus their jackets/sweaters they've worn on our walks. Once all the toys are gone...when there are no more little boy clothes to wash...or blankies...I'm going to be bereft.

What a wonderful gift from Katney! I've seen her work on her blog, and I'm sure this one is beautifully done. I've made baby quilts for each of my grandkids, but they were more of the "it's the thought that counts" kind of quilts:) Love the photo of all the little things on the line. This is going to be the best-dressed baby in town!

Lovely sight and Ann is right - I always washed new clothes before my baby used them! The standards went downhill once they arrived. When is the grandchild due to enter this world? I think I missed the announcement when it may have been mentioned and have deleted the email! I am too tidy.
