Take a lesson from Eric

I was listening to The Best of Clapton while I baked this morning.

I went into the dining-room where Husband is working (one good thing about him working from home is that I can say things when I think of them instead of trying to keep them in my head until his late-night phone-call) and prodded him. 'When Eric Clapton's girlfriend says, "Do I look all right?" he says,"Yes, you look wonderful tonight." He doesn't say, 'Stop fishing for compliments.'

Husband sighed. 'Go away, I'm busy.'

At least he acknowledged you - sometimes L doesn't respond at all. (It's all good, tho')

My husband is a clone of yours I am sure. He never gives a compliment I think he thinks they are bad for your character or something. The best I have ever got out of him is "Your not bad for your age" somehow that doesn't quite do it. I love Eric Clapton and particularly 'Layla'

You need to slap him round the head in those situations, leslie! Start early!

Ah, but they show their love in other ways, don't they, berni?

Exactly, Liz. Mind you, I don't think either of us would want to live with Eric!
