South Africa 26 - 21 British Lions

The line-outs were dreadful, the scrum even worse, the kicks were bad, and they couldn't finish, but apart from that the Lions played the more exciting rugby.

The Springboks were mechanical and efficient in spite of not having played for some time, and at half-time, when the score was something like 21 - 7, it looked as if it could be a totally depressing game.

But then they brought on some more Welsh players including Younger Son's double and it came close to a turn-round. But not quite close enough.

The next two games are at altitude and, having lost the first test, the odds will be against the Lions, but in true Welsh spirit, I still believe they can win the series!

Your comments on the game sounds similar to my armchair coaching of football, except you probably attended the game.

Back from convention and tired, but will be normal in a day or two.

I watched Australia v Italy last night. It was a pretty ho hum game. But then I don't really understand Rugby. For excitement, blood and gore and a fast game, you cannot beat League.

Only the inclusion of the Welsh could possibly ensure a victory.

listened to the last 20mins on the radio.... if we'd have finished better sounded like we could have won but I joined when the changes happened. I think South Africa might rethink their substitution strategy as well as they seemed to really upset themselves with their changes.
