Saturday Photohunt - Chipped

Chipped off the old block.

'A chip of (sic) the old block' was first used in the seventeenth century and is applied especially to a son who resembles his father in appearance or character. (As in a small piece of wood chipped from a larger block has the same characteristics.)

Husband resembles his father in character very much. He'll argue his point and, if in doubt, make up facts. And he's a great dad.

It's cool to see your hubby having such a good tie with his main "block". Hehe... That's should be the way a family should be. :)

That's a great take on the theme and I love the photograph. After I saw you post it occurred to me that my shot could have had this interpretation too since my daughter is so much like her father and their photos were around the chipped cup. Hope you have a great weekend.

At least you know what you're in for when he 'grows up'!

I think that's a comment that's widely used throughout the world, Liz and it can be so true. That's a lovely photo of two of the men in your life.

When you said "chipped", I thought we were going to see a spud cut into chips and ready for cooking.

What a great idea for chipped Liz. They alike and is your son like his father? Maybe not follicularly challenged as yet but in temperament and looks.
Have a good weekend.

What a creative take on the theme -- and yes, father and son do look quite similar! :)

Clever!! I've also learned something new today :)

I wondered if someone would do that aspect of "chipped." Clever!

Nice interpretation ! but what happens when both argue their point together ?

They do look alike. No question, they are related.

I do hope you have time to stop by my blog this weekend-- I'm helping Quaker Oats and Share Our Strength with a campaign to stamp out childhood hunger in the US!

Great angle on the theme. My husband looks and acts so much like his dad and that's not bad at all. Have a great weekend :)

It's rare to have a peek ahead in time without ever leaving your own... now you know what you're in for, eh? :-)

Great post -- thanks for visiting mine!

Haha... they sure look a like! And while I don't look anything like them, I got a chip from them when it comes to making a point (sometimes) hehe... excellent take! I bet he's a good father if he's a chip of the old block, else they wouldn't get a long so well! :)

I tried to comment earlier from our friends computer with an older version of IE. Very sad. Everything except your posts came up.

Anyway. What a handsome pair. Lucky you.

Hope the Rugby was good. Our football team here in Adelaide had to win by two clear goals to win the Australian League. They only won by one. Very frustrating.

Take care.
