Quick round-up

Last Monday I got really mad at Alun. I worried about it all week and when I went in again on Friday I said, 'I'm sorry I shouted at you.'
'When did you shout at me?'

Yesterday morning I apologised to Husband. I said, 'I'm sorry I was grumpy with you yesterday.'
'Were you grumpy with me?'

I'm obviously not very good at being mean. Not externally anyway. Internally - oh, you should hear me! - I can be really vicious!

But we've had a lovely family weekend. Our pretend Christmas dinner with roast rib of beef was yummy. I waited with bated breath as Husband sampled my Christmas pudding. 'Mm, it's good' he declared, '... but not as good as Evelyn's.'

And here's my elephant poo gift.
I've nearly finished Christmas shopping. Not the food, of course, but the presents. Just a few more to get. Today I saw a calendar being sold in aid of Wales Air Ambulance. It's called The Bay View Boys but it was sealed so I had to ask if it were pictures of helicopters or air ambulancemen?'
'Oh, men. That's why it's sealed: so children can't see it.'
'I'll take it.'
It's for my oldest friend (as in she's been my friend for the longest time). I've taken just a little peek inside: there seem to be lots of strategically-placed cricket bats, guitars and champagne magnums. I think she'll like it.

Of course the tree will be swamped by elephant grass and exotic vines and strange creeping things vying for space...
...maybe even dandetigers.

I've stopped thinking about elephant poo and now onto the air ambulancemen ;0)

I'm not very good at getting mad at people either. I do often say completely the wrong thing at the wrong time - its a gift, the children seem to have inherited that one too!!

Ooooh a man calendar...I want one! But I don't want elephant poo. It wouldn't be very aromatic in our climate.

Have a wonderful Christmas, Liz.

Ah, life in the weeks before Christmas. So you were a little testy were you? And they didn't even notice, so don't apologize next time. No need.

Any football player calendars?

Lol at the not being grumpy comment. I'm a bit like that - inside a massive rurmoil thinking I've ruined someones life, then I apologise and then they ask me to remind them again about what it is I'm apologising for. I'm way too sensitive I know.

Some wag had an idea for a calendar like that for a group I was involved with a while back - mixed sexes. What got me was that the people you'd think would be very prudish and say no were practically ripping their clothes off there and then. I said a firm no as I didn't want to lower the circulation figures. It never got made in the end.

I have some notepaper made from recycled elephant poo. I keep it in my office as a talking point and don't dare to use it - afraid it might actually be scratch 'n' sniff!

I bet you bought 2 of those calendars :-)

Hello, Liz! Sorry I've been so out-of-the-picture lately. But I wanted to make sure I stopped by to wish you the most blessed, safe, and Merry Christmas! I'm hoping this New Year will be a much better one and I can truly get back to a more 'normal' existence. I just realized when I accidentally deleted my blogroll a while back, yours is one that still needs to be added back. There are still several out there in the 'vapors' somewhere that I probably will never be able to retrieve, ha! Especially with this foggy menopausal brain of mine. Happy Christmas, dear one.
