ABC Wednesday - R

Rain, the B-side of Paperback Writer (my choice for ABC two weeks ago) and released by the Beatles in 1966.If there's one thing we know a lot about in Wales it's rain. Last year we took a holiday to the Lake District in June. En route we stayed for a day on the north Wales coast. It rained. This photo was taken from the car park at Rhyl.

In the Comments, people often say, 'I've got that song in my head now and I'll be singing it all day.' I consider myself a true Beatles fan but I can't even put a tune to this one! Let me know if you can.

To take part in ABC Wednesday, go to its home here.

My wife's sister lives in the Seattle, Washington area. Whatever they plan to do, they just do it in the rain if need be. They say if we waited for dry weather we would never do anything.

I do have the Beatles song stuck in my head.

If the rain comes
they run and hide their heads
They might as well be dead
If the rain comes
If the rain comes

When the sun shines
they slip into the shade
and sip their lemonade
When the sun shines
When the sun shines

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather's fine

I can show you
that when it starts to rain
everything's the same
I can show you
I can show you

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather's fine

Can you hear me
that when it rains and shines
it's just a state of mind
Can you hear me
Can you hear me

No, I can't remember the tune either. My students don't believe me when I tell them how often it rains in Wales!

Sorry - I can't place it! If Richie hums it for me I might remember!

Lovely weather for Rhyl - looks like that here a lot too.

Well done again. I confess to forgetting that one. I thought you were going for revolver album or revolution, but this was an even better choice.

Mine's up but I can't sign into linky again. Is it just me?

Not only can I not put a tune to this, I don't even remember this song. I came here humming "Revolution" instead:)

Lovely photo, though, Liz. I'm not sure I would like rain all the time.

At least you don't have to shovel RAIN, unlike the snow that we are receiving here in my part of Canada.

We've had lots of rain over the last few days. So much so that our dams could be full by next week. Five dams with an overall percentage of 40% to 100% in a week...that's how much rain and there's more on the way.

Today, it's sort of cloudy with odd bursts of sunlight but no rain, although that could change by tonight apparently.

I think I'm developing gills and/or webbed feet...

I couldn't place it either so I Googled it. Go to YouTube.com and add a slash on the end, and then this 'watch?v=FTLJMSbEnn0'

There's actually a video of them singing it! :)

This looks like torrential type rain. I wish I could think of a happy song to go with it.

That photo looks just like my summer holiday too!!

Oh well, I Googled it too before reading others' comments. I do recall the song now.

Rain - we really could do with some here. They have forecast showers all week but all we've had is 1 mm!

THanks, jay. I think I recall it now or I may be getting it mixed up with another song that keeps flitting into my head.

Ah, it's so sad that John was killed. He looks so happy in that video.
