Poor George

George was set upon yesterday by those two nasty Jack Russells again. They pinned him down and were biting his mouth and ears and back while he yelped in pain. Vicious little dogs.

Younger Son called in for a shower this afternoon. We haven't seen much of him over the last two weeks as he's been lizard-sitting. He has to turn their lights on and off. He's also spider and fish-sitting but that's less of a commitment.

Poor George - did he try to fight back or was he being a gentleman? lol I'm sure he could have made a lovely lunch out of them.

He didn't fight, no. He is much too nice.

I certainly hope George is OK!

Lizard sitting?

Yes, nick, george is okay. But stupid. HUsband saved him but he was ready to go back and 'play' again! He has no sense.

Apparently the lizards need to have light/heat for a certain amount of time each day, so while their owner is awy on holiday, Younger Son is in charge.

Oh poor george. Did he have to go to the vets?

And that bit about your son made me laugh!!

Thanks for ALL your comments on mine :)

It is surprising that George does not fight back. He is frisky enough and certainly much larger than a Jack Russell.

Sooo... is there good money to be made in professional lizard sitting?

I just noticed your Welsh glossary over in the sidebar. I know it is not just for me, but I can pretend. Thanks!

"He was ready to go back and 'play' again." Maybe it's because he's blonde. George and I must stick together!

George must enjoy playing outside—regardless of the bullies—as much as Alex does.

My youngest son had lizards, but I can’t remember needing to have a lizard sitter when we went on vacation.

I should, beast, instead i find myself apologising because George is too stupid to run away! Britishness taken to extremes.

No, suburbia, there were no obvious cuts - but the last time it happened he was left with cuts and scabs that we discovered later on his back.

winston, george is too nice to fight back. He could have sat on them both. Harvey was the same. It was only on about 3 or 4 occasions in his lifetime when he was attacked by large dogs that he fought back. And won. Retrievers are big and strong but gentle.

elsie, nick, welshcakes, as I've said, he's very gentle - and very stupid!
