ABC Wednesday - N

Nuts are a great garden attraction. First visitor is the Great Tit. Then the long-tailed tit. I love these sweet little birds. They usually come in pairs, and have these little fluffy bodies and long thin tails.
And where there are nuts, there are greedy squirrels!

Wonderful shots of the birds.
had to go back to April 2007 and see your son's wedding pictures. Great!

No we haven't worn tartan up till now but I do fancy trying something out. Maybes for our silver wedding in a few years?

Great pictures. I really like the squirrel one, gave me a chuckle. They can be so persistent.

I saw a squirrel in Hyde park the other day. Maybe we were the Nuts?

I think the blue tit is Britain's prettiest bird (kind of more roborovski-ish and a little less garish than the great tit)... but what embarrassing names. I'm sure if I posted anything about tits on my blogs the Americans would just think I was making it up to be rude

Liz! You have long-tailed tits actually keeping still on your feeder! I am seriously impressed!!!

Hopefully the bird feeder is squirrel proof. I can just see him swinging back and forth trying his best to get a nut.

I chose N is for nummies. What's that you say? Click here to find out. – Margy

Great photos, Liz. Is this in your garden? (I almost wrote "yard" but remembered the British use "garden" for "yard") lol

We get coal-tits and longtailed-tits. I think I may have captured one of them on film this afternoon but haven't downloaded the pics yet to see - they are so quick that they are usually off and away before I switch the camera on let alone focus.

The squirrel can't manage the one on the rosebush by my window but tackle often the ones in my neighbour's back garden.

That squirrel is creative in his approach. Of course, he will find nuts. I have been encountering squirrels in the park. Two sat and watched me watch them today. Idon't have as much luck at birds.

Nice shots especially of the squirrel. Nuts are good ways to invite critters to your yard. I would love to do the same, but our dog would chase them away.

Terrific 'N'
I didn't get to do one this week as I had to travel to London early and didn't get home until late
