A lot easier to carry

We collected Harvey's ashes from the vet this morning. They're in a wooden casket with his name on a little plaque at the top. We're hoping all the children will be home at the beginning of September so we can bury or scatter his ashes and plant a bush or tree in Harvey's memory.

Sometimes I just feel like hitting something.

Make bread ... knead it to pieces.

Good thinking. Less painful than bashing a wall and with a better result.

Thinking of you Liz and old Harvey. Give him a good send-off whatever you decide. A tree or bush is a great idea

My brother hit me when our dog died. It wasn't my fault, but I know why he hit me. It didn't make him feel better either.
Thinking of you xx

I think planting a tree or shrub in memory of dear Harvey is a great idea. :)

Picking up the ashes is like losing him all over again, I know. It hits you that this is all that's left. But of course it isn't. You'll always remember him and all his little ways, and as long as you do, he will live on.

Yes, Liz.

jmb & Lee, it was Daughter's idea and a good one we think too.

Clare, no, I don't suppose hitting anything (or anyone) does help really!

Mauigirl, I'd thought the tears had dried up until I held that casket.

Yes, James.
