62 - 5

I'm not even going to mention Wales's narrow defeat by England yesterday. I was listening to it on the car radio while driving home from Abergavenny. It was obvious from the commentary that the Welsh team weren't even on the field for most of the game. If they had been, I'd have been seriously upset and worried by the result, but as they couldn't have been, it's fine.

That's one way of looking at it!

There is always the next match. My American football team stunk to high heaven last year. There is this year to look forward to.

I won't mention Wales' defeat by England bc I don't follow sports (rugby, I take it?? I had to do that at school but am not built for it. I was too tall and thin. And slow witted to play rugby at all well. Only thing I was good at was athletics, which of course we only did in summertime ...)

How are you Liz? Long time no hear. OK about 7 days but hey...

I am trying slowly to fix my life together. I may even buy a CD player for £11.99 from Argos ... have loads of CDs collected but nothing to play 'em on !!

Put it out of mind, Liz. It never happened in real life - it was a parallel world.

steve g: who's your team?

Not sure what sport, but 'my team wasn't on the field' is a great line on any defeat. Never seems to work, but takes a lot of the stress out of it :)

This had me chuckling, well not the score but your rather phlegmatic conclusion. Just think how the poor players feel.

well.... I wasn't going to gloat...

Actually I won't I fear this is England peaking too early. We'll go into the world cup all full of puffed up pride at how brill we are and get stuffed by everyone no doubt....
Wales on the other hand will have tried out some younger players installed some national passion and pride and might just surprise a few teams who'll think they are a push over

That looks like a cricket score. I used to like to visit Abergavenny when my Dads friends lived just up the road at Crucorny. Nice part of the world.

The only way, Welshcakes!

Trouble is, Steve, is that this is world cup year.

Thanks, Gleds, for not mentioning the defeat. I've commented on your musical choice over on your blog.

Parallel world, james, indeed. Not one I choose to visit.

Lord Nazh, it's rugby union, and it does take the stress away.

jmb, that's a lot of the trouble, that the players may well be totally down at a time, just before when the world cup, when they need their confidence boosting.

I hope you're right, Furtheron, I hope you're right.
