Tea tonight

Penclawdd cockles, smoked bacon and a very light grating of cheddar cheese. Mmm.
Usually I'd have a heavy coating of cheese and some crusty French bread. But I'm on a diet ...
I am such a martyr.

Great photo, Liz! I can't eat seafood but that makes me hungry!

Gosh you're a busy girl, do you post three times every day? My mind boggles.

jmb, I post more times than is good for me! My brain just rattles things out - mostly rubbish!

Welshcakes, you can't eat seafood?! Oh, no, that is terrible. But Mediterranean seafood isn't the best. (And I do not know how to spell Med!)

An "Ugly American," asking: are cockles the same as mussels? I don't think I spelled that correctly...
It's an interesting looking dish.
I trust you do well tomorrow! And don't be embarrassed if you should swoon. Think how many big military men faint at the sight of a needle!

Clare, yes, they do. And we have one enormous one as well. Bigger than a big mixing bowl. For people with gigantic appetites!

Gracie, no, mussels are different, but both are shellfish (bivalves). I'll see if I can find a picture of a cockle. Why 'Ugly American'?!
