winning and losing

Sally is a nurse. Married to a doctor, they have two children. When she becomes an alcoholic her husband turns her out of their home and stops her seeing the children. She finds accommodation and begins her battle. She is winning when she goes on a binge. She collapses in the street on a cold night, and is found dead only yards away from her flat.

Dai is in Zac's tonight. It's the first time he's been sober for weeks. He's been going through a bad period and has taken refuge in drink. He'd been saving money to buy himself a good guitar but he's blown it all. He comes to Zac's to try and find something. He finds peace.

Pray God he can hang on to that, and find the strength to fight and win his battle.

Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment. I'm a bit puzzled about "Zac's". Is it a real venue or a virtual venue? Is it part of an intricate invented world?
Love the rippling dragon flag.

Let's hope that Dai can win against his demons

It is sad Sally tripped...and fell. It's sad for her children...they lost their mother, probably through no fault of her own but by forces too strong for her to fight against.

Hi, yp. Zac's is a real venue (hard to tell sometimes in this virtual life we create!) It's 'church for ragamuffins', for bikers, the homeless, addicts, those on the edge of society, who don't fit in anywhere else. And a few of us who don't really fit into those classifications but go along because we feel at home there.

Indeed, Lee, let's hope. Addiction is such a mighty enemy. I joke about being addicted to chocolate or blogging but there's a bit of me that knows that it's not that big a step to far more serious addictions. I owe you a visit by the way; I did start reading yesterday but was interupted (now that is a word I can't spell! Two 'r's maybe?)
